Engine Options & Performance Comparison

The 2023 Wrangler gets a standard 3.6-litre V6 engine with ESS, providing an output of 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine variant is available, featuring an eTorque mild-hybrid system to enhance the Wrangler's performance and fuel economy. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine comes standard on the Sahara trim levels, and it's an option for the rest, delivering 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. With the Rubicon 392 trim level comes a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine with an astonishing output of 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the 2023 Bronco features a standard 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, cranking out 275 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. Opting for the available 2.7-litre EcoBoost engine increases output to 315 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. However, the highest output is available with the 3.0-litre EcoBoost engine, which offers 406 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Off-Road Capability & Equipment Comparison

With the 2023 model year, the Jeep Wrangler continues to deliver outstanding off-road capability through its standard offerings, while its Rubicon trim levels bring more advanced off-road equipment. You can expect a Rubicon trim to equip the new Wrangler with notable off-road features such as 33-inch all-terrain tires, Off-Road Plus mode, Rock-Trac four-wheel-drive system, electronic sway bar disconnect, Tru-Lok electronic locking differential, performance suspension, rock protection sill rails, and a full-size matching rear-mounted spare tire.

The 2023 Bronco also comes standard with a part-time four-wheel-drive system and a few off-road features, but it requires higher trim levels and optional packages to achieve its best performance while off the pavement. The Bronco Raptor tops the lineup, showcasing off-road equipment such as 37-inch all-terrain tires, semi-active dampers, electronic-locking axles, trail one-pedal driving, Trail Turn Assist, and front stabilizer bar disconnect. Although the 2023 Bronco Raptor is great off-road, it's no match for the Wrangler Rubicon 392.
